Creative Summary
BRITA 131 is an underground art space located within the BRITA Art Community (BAC). The design translates the founder's philosophy—“everyone is a bright tower”—into a bridge connecting art with the theme of the sea, likening visitors' journey through the space to a voyage of thoughts. Visual cues draw from international maritime signal flags—a flag-based language used for communication between ships, where each flag represents a letter of the alphabet. We reinterpreted the signal flags with a fresher, more youthful palette and set up a typeface that allows free transition between flags and letters. The signage design for the BRITA 131 space also employs this visual system. The industrial-style typography complements the materials in BRITA 131 space as well. The sentences on the walls serve both as directional cues guiding visitors from the ramp entrance to the underground gallery and as content that responds to the viewer's state within the space, transforming the act of entering itself into a narrative experience.
